Category: Urban Design + Urban Planning + Policy & Guidelines
Year: 2021-2022
Client: Department of Urban Planning of Bogota, Colombia (Secretaria de Planeación Distrital)
Status: Ongoing
Location: Bogotá
On December 29 2021, a new Territorial Plan (TP) was adopted in Bogotá, updating its previous 2004 version and bringing a new agenda around climate change, urban structure, and planning tools. One of the main changes reflected a response to concerns around governance and local planning, and resulted on the reconceptualization of local districts by making them smaller in size and more equivalent in population.
This project aims to downscale the TP's main ideas and urban strategies, adapting to a neighborhood scale and creating the necessary planning and urban design strategies to achieve goals on proximity, climate change adaptation and resilience, and sustainable local development.
